There are many methods of downloading an Aadhaar card online, but I will tell you two: easy and convenient.
Note: The e-Aadhaar card can be downloaded as a PDF from the UIDAI using an Ahdhaar number, enrollment, or VID(Virtual ID).
Downloading Aahdaar Via UIDAI Portal
- First, Go to Myadhaar Website –> https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
- Click Login.
- Now, Enter your Aahdaar card details, Fill in the Captcha shown in the image, and click “Log in with OTP.”
- After successfully logging in, click on Download Ahdaar.
- After clicking on Download, your details will show. You can choose to download a masked Aadhaar.
- Click On Download. You will get your e-aadhaar card in PDF format on your device.
- The pdf file will be password protected; you must enter the password.
- The Password will be the First Four Letters of your name and Year of Birth, as shown in the above image. For example, if my name is Shivam and I was born in 2001, my Password will be SHIVA2001 (In Capital Letters).
Pro Tip:- If you don’t want to open aadhaar pdf again and again then Take screenshot after opening the pdf so you don’t have to enter the password again and again. The image will be saved in your device as Screenshot.
Generating Aadhaar VID (Virtual ID) Quick Guide
To Generate A Virtual ID we will follow the simple process as follows:-
- Go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
- Scroll Down and Click on VID Generator.
- Enter Aahdaar and the captcha, then click on Send OTP. Enter the OTP, then click verify and proceed.
- Congratulations! You have generated your VID successfully. Now, please take note of it.
Downloading Ahdaar Via mAadhaar App
First, go to the Play Store or App Store and download the mAadhaar for the Play Store or the App Store (for iOS).
- Click Skip, and then I consent.
- Select the Language and Click Continue.
- Enter your mobile number to register.
- Click on Download AAdhaar and select your preference, Masked or Regular Adhaar. ( Masked Aadhaar hides your First 8 Digit Numbers to enhance the security of your aadhaar card by showing six digits like this xxxxxxxx ).
- Enter the Aadhaar Number, VID, or Enrollment ID and Fill in the Captcha.

- Click on Request OTP, Enter the OTP, and Click Verify.
- Now, clicking open the PDF will require the pass. To get the Pass, Enter the First Four Letters of your name in Capital letters and your date of birth.
